Yunnan Nationalities Village is located in the south of Kunming, next to Dianchi Lake, and is a popular tourism attraction within the city perimeters. The architecture represents those of the 25 ethnic groups in the province, which represent traditional architecture in minority villages. It's a celebration of Yunnan's cultural diversity with different folk customs and performances. It currently is classified as a AAAA tourist attraction.

Local holidays such as Water-Splashing Festival of the Dai minority, Torch Festival of the Yi Minority and Harvest Festival of the Jinuo minority are among those celebrated in the village every year.

Other performances include the elephant show, water screen films and cabaret can also be attended.
