Wenhai Naxi village is a pristine and tranquil Naxi minority village located next to the beautiful seasonal Wenhai lake. “Wenhai” means “highland village” in the Naxi ethnic language and locals have lived here for over 300 years, preserving their unique way of life, dialect and culture. Along with their yaks, goats, pigs, horses and cows, villagers live on the lush green meadows around the lake, which burst into splendid fields of primroses in the months of July & August.
