About Wenfeng Temple
Wenfeng is one of 'The Five Famous Temples of Lijiang'. It was built around the year 1733 during the reign of a Naxi king named Mu Tian. Information available on Chinese websites adds this curious detail: "Above the temple is a hole in the earth, near a sacred spring, where monks would stay for over three years to engage in intense meditation."
