About Lianhuachi Park

Nestled between Yieryi Dajie and Xuefu Lu, Lianhuachi Park offers a serene escape in the heart of Kunming. Despite its central location, this oasis remains a hidden gem, free from the bustling crowds typical of Green Lake Park. Visitors can explore beautifully manicured gardens, tranquil walking paths, and the historic Anfuyuan villa grounds, which echo tales of ancient intrigues and romantic legends. The park’s centerpiece, the lotus pool, is surrounded by flowering trees and picturesque wetlands, creating a peaceful atmosphere perfect for a leisurely stroll or quiet contemplation.

Steeped in history, Lianhuachi Park was once the luxurious retreat of the infamous general Wu Sangui and his beloved concubine, Chen Yuanyuan. Today, it boasts charming pavilions, an elegant pagoda, and daily musical performances that add a touch of cultural charm. Visitors can easily reach this serene spot by taking bus routes 65, 139, or K5 to Lianhuachi Station, or by riding Metro Line 4 to Xiaocaiyuan (小菜园) Station, Exit A, followed by a 5-minute walk. Open daily from 6:30am to 8:30am with free admission, the park also offers boat rentals at 30 yuan per half hour.

A nice and sursprisingly beautiful park a bit away from the main shopping/bar streets; bring some breadcrumbs for the birds (like, buy some fresh bread in any nearby bakery, it's gonna be inedible for humans anyhow).
