About The Tea Horse Trail of rural Lijiang
During this 3 days trip we follow the steps of the caravan on the Tea Horse Trail, to discover the lost times of history along the mountains and rivers in rural Lijiang.

day 1

Shibaoshan Buddhist Grottoes
Drive to Shibaoshan Mountain (about 1.5hours). Enjoy sightseeing at a Buddhist grotto (about 2.5hours), Shibaoshan Grotto is one of the finest caves in Southern China.

Shaxi Old Town
Drive to Shaxii Town (40 minutes). You can walk around and get a feeling for this ancient village of the Tea Horse Road. It's the only ancient market that has survived on the Tea Horse Road in Yunnan. You can enjoy the ancient stage, the inns, the temple, the bridge and the square.

Shigu Town
After breakfast, drive to Shigu Town (about 1hour), sightsee the first bend of the Yangtze River and Shigu Town.

Liming Town
After lunch, we will drive to Liming Village (about 2hours).

Thousand Tortoises Mountain
Later in the afternoon we will go sightseeing to Qiangui Mountain, or Thousand Tortoise Mountain. You will see large numbers of tortoises, naturally formed of the sandstone landforms.

Tiger Leaping Gorge
After breakfast we will drive to Tiger Leaping Gorge (about 2.5hours) for sightseeing and hiking (about 2.5hours). Tiger Leaping Gorge is one of the deepest grand canyons on this planet.

Lijiang Old Town (Dayan)
After visiting Tiger Leaping Gorge we will go back to Lijiang, where the trip ends.
